The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC is being replaced by PED 2014/68/EU beginning July 19, 2016. Per Article 48, Clause 3 of the new version, “any previously issued certificate to PED 97/23/EC remains valid under PED 2014/68/EU.”

SRI will issue updates to current certificates when they are revised or renewed. The updated certificate will reflect the new version number (2014/68/EU). Please note, the Annex I, Section 4.3 requirements regarding material did not change from the prior to the current version.

The following release was made on September 21, 2016 by SRI regarding EU PED requirements. SRI’s clients (registrants) who need to meet the requirements of the EU Pressure Equipment Directive should contact the SRI Certification Department to request a PED-compliant Certificate of Registration, (724) 934-9000, x613. Thank you.
