Key Responsibilities
ESG Program Establishment
- Support materiality and gap assessments, and define ESG/sustainability programs, by applying international sustainability rating systems and frameworks such as GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD, EcoVadis, ISO, GRESB, SDGs, C2C, LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc.
- Support stakeholder engagement efforts (e.g., interview and survey issuing, data analysis)
- Conduct industry analyses and peer benchmarking
- Provide sustainability committee support and client research needs
- Assist in the quantification of environmental footprints (e.g., energy/GHG emissions/water/waste)
ESG Program Support
- Create dynamic and innovative analytics-driven deliverables, including dashboards, spreadsheets, and reports
- Create articles, presentations, videos about sustainability, and external facing deliverables to communicate sustainability for and/or to clients
- Evaluate sustainability data and information against broad ESG benchmarks, scorecards, and best practices, and identify opportunities for improvement
Sustainability / ESG / CSR Reporting
- Assist in the development of corporate sustainability reports
- Identify appropriate disclosures (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs etc.) and corresponding data collection needs for compliance
- Independently undertake project-related research, collect and analyze data, and engage with a range of stakeholders
- Draft content on behalf of our clients based on information received
- Help clients respond to rating agency/customer questionnaires
Job Dynamics
- Support senior colleagues in business development, including proposal research, and in the development of work plans, schedules and budgets for the delivery of client projects
- Deliver tasks on time and within budget and assist project managers to ensure that projects perform against targets and deadlines

Qualifications
The ideal applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent qualitative and quantitative skills, combined with an entrepreneurial attitude and a strategic thinking and doing mindset, in addition to the following minimum qualifications:
- BA/BSc. degree in sustainability, engineering, or science, with a good understanding of business (4+ years of relevant and demonstratable experience may substitute)
- Background working with large data sets and proven ability to analyze, interpret and communicate findings (intermediate Excel knowledge required and experience with data science applications preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate and analyze operational and environmental data for compliance, indicators, and trends

- Collaborate and work across clients’ organizations to drive implementation and results
- Integrate best practices into projects to drive healthy, productive, diverse teams in high- performing buildings to support strong, responsible business performance
Sustainability/ESG/CSR Reporting
- Lead corporate sustainability reporting and writing
- Draft, edit, and approve content to report on behalf of clients to communicate sustainability progress and goals in corporate sustainability reports and communications
- Collaborate across clients’ business functions to communication value of sustainability report, collecting impacts stories, and establishing methods to streamline annual reporting
- Prepare/approve language to respond to rating agency and/or customer questionnaires on behalf of our clients
- Independently undertake project-related research, collect and analyze data, and engage with a range of stakeholders

Qualifications
The ideal applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent qualitative and quantitative skills, combined with an entrepreneurial attitude and a strategic thinking and doing mindset, in addition to the following minimum qualifications:
- BA/BSc in sustainability, engineering or a related science, with a well-rounded understanding of business
- At least 2+ years’ related work experience (a master’s degree may substitute)
- Experience working directly with clients
- In the course of one year, earn the Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) and relevant credentials such as, the GRI Professional Certification, AA1000 Practitioner LEED Green Associate, etc.
- Background working with large data sets and proven ability to analyze, interpret and communicate findings
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate and analyze operational and environmental data for compliance, indicators, and trends
- Understand the connection between high-performance buildings and ESG
- Professional writing skills and the ability to translate scientific data and metrics into compelling “sustainability stories”
Additional consideration will be given to candidates who:
- Currently hold or currently pursuing LEED AP, WELL AP, SEA credentials
- Have experience with data science and data visualization
- Hold a master’s degree in sustainability and/or business, or equivalent certifications

3R Built Environment Sustainability Consultant (Engineering Track)
3R Sustainability, a CSR (corporate social responsibility) and high-performance building consulting company located in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, is looking for a Built Environment Sustainability Consultant (Engineering Track) to join our growing team.
3R believes that sustainability and corporate responsibility are good for business, good for the environment, good for society, and good for the economy. This client-facing role will focus on corporate, building, and product sustainability, including environmental impacts, employee health and productivity, community engagement, and sound business practices. Tasks will include analyzing sustainability data, developing business strategies, and creating sustainability reports and programs. Projects and clients will span across a diverse set of industries and locations, which require engagement with clients, and their stakeholders, around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct documentation review according to the LEED BD+C and ID+C rating systems with an emphasis on the EA and IEQ credit categories
- Create documentation packages for the credits and prerequisites in the categories listed above
- Manage portions of built environment consulting projects
- Provide support for other sustainability related projects across the company’s range of services
Additional Responsibilities
- Support collaboration with clients through development of tools and deliverables in a variety of frameworks including LEED, WELL Health-Safety, and other built environment and CSR related topics
- Independently undertake project-related research, collect and analyze data, and engage with a range of stakeholders
- Support senior colleagues in business development, including proposal writing, and in the development of work plans, schedules and budgets for the delivery of client projects
- Deliver tasks on time and within budget and assist project managers to ensure that projects perform against targets and deadlines
- Work on several differing projects simultaneously
- Conduct corporate GHG inventories (scope 1, 2, 3)
Requirements
- BA/BSc in sustainability, engineering or a related science, with a well-rounded understanding of business
- Three to five years’ directly related work experience with direct experience with at least 10 energy models
- Background in energy modeling, utility analysis, or energy efficiency
- Possess, or in the course of six months obtain a LEED AP with specialty
- Background working with large data sets and proven ability to analyze, interpret and communicate findings
- Understand the connection between high-performance buildings and CSR
Additional consideration will be given to candidates who:
- Currently hold or currently pursuing PE, EIT, BEMP, or C.E.M.
- Have experience with data science and data visualization
